What I spent too much money on today!

L-R : Soap and Glory Greatest Scrub of All, Soap and Glory Night Cream, Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Eye Cream, Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation in BR 20 and Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Ecru

Reviews on all of that to come!

A little word on service. Went to YSL first to get a sample, and the assistant could not have been nicer, she was so so busy, but apologised profusely for keeping us waiting. I told her that I preferred a paler foundation as most that match my skin tone tend to turn yellowy after a while, she took this on board and colour matched me for the shade for my skin and also the shade paler to let me choose which I preferred. Amazing service if you ask me.

Went to Estee Lauder in Boots and the woman was just rude. Offered me a colour match but said she didn't have any bottles for samples. Basically wasn't interested when she knew I wasn't buying, so went to another Estee Lauder elsewhere. The woman who served me was polite enough, but was SO condescending. I know I don't look like I have money, but I am planning on buying a higher end foundation and will have enough for one and she just generally made the whole thing quite uncomfortable. Oh and she also didn't even ask me what I thought, so now I have a sample that's a shade too dark. I'll try and lighten it with powder and see what happens. I really like it but the bad experience has just totally put me off. Have you ever been put off a brand by bad service?

Yeah I know. I'm the worst blogger in the world. Have a FOTD to make up for it!

Natural Collection Moisture Shine lipstick in Hazelnut

This was a face I was a little nervous about as it was dramatic even by my standards! Also, I'm not usually a big fan of browns, but I had been looking for a dark brown lipstick everywhere and this Natural Collection one was a steal at just £1.99! Not particularly long lasting but a really moisturising formula and I don't mind topping up anyway. I was really unsure of the brown blusher, as I have really prominent cheekbones (lucky me!) and have no need to contour, but this made my face look really sharp and angular which I loved! I also bought a really deep Barbie pink and a pink glittery lipstick as well, so might do a FOTD with those tomorrow.

Also, I have no idea why I have such a frowny face in this picture.....

What's in my bag!

I saw lots of people doing a "what's in my bag" post so I thought I'd do one too :)

The bag itself is one an ex brought be back from Japan. It's huge and sturdy - a requirement!!
L-R - Sketchbook, bench notebook, diary, work notebook & headset, whatever book I'm reading (currently it's Wideacre by Phillipa Gregory), bottle of water, pencil case, glasses case, makeup bag, purse, work pass, perfume (currently Someday by Justin Beiber - DON'T JUDGE ME IT SMELLS GOOD), keys, ipod, lip balm, hand sanitiser, random pens!

When I'm just going to work I take out my sketchbooks and at the weekend I have a waaaaaay smaller bag with just purse, keys and phone!

Tattoos and a switchblade attitude....

So as the title may suggest, I'm in a bit of a "fuck you I won't do what you tell me" kind of mood today. I was gonna do a FOTD and an OOTD post but I kind of just want to punch a small child so I'll just show you my boots and if you wanna know anything about my makeup I promise not to snarl :P

Boots - New Look
Tights - Primark
Skirt - H&M

My face and hand look super fat here. I'm off to eat awesome foods with Dannelle.

Saturday 7 April 2012

Please excuse my geekiness. Normal service will return shortly.

Also please excuse the pictures being upside down. I'm too excited to care. So to break up the fact that Stephen and I are quite skint and have nothing to do, we decided to take a wander around the Barras. Now for those of you that don't know, the Barras used to be, pretty much a Glasgow institution. In the 90's it became THE place to purchase a good ol' pirate DVD or CD, but also a place to get a fantastic vintage bargain. Now, the pirates have been turfed out and it's sort of died a death. Which makes me kinda sad tbh.  Anyway, there's a fantastic second-hand jewellers there, where they have boxes of silver rings for £5, and oddly enough, every Beanie Baby ever made. Stephen and I stood and gabbed to the owners for about an hour and I felt bad for taking up all their time so I thought I'd buy a ring. And Stephen bought me a doggy Beanie Baby. It's currently sitting on top of my TV.

This ring is a good 4 sizes too small, but I kept looking at it, and eventually decided to just buy it and wear it as a half ring because even though the stone is obvs fake, it's beautiful.

Then...I spotted this. Now I am no gemmology expert, but I got full marks and close to full marks in both my gemmology exams, so I'd say I'm pretty damn good. And these look like real opals to me. The thing that's throwing me off is they are set in silver. In my experience, opals are normally set in gold if they're bought second hand. I'm gonna take them in and let my tutor have a look at them but I have a feeling I just got £x amount of opals for £5. Winner.

HAUL POST! YAAAAAY :D

I went shopping with my mum today, and I went back home for a while so was able to pick up my new tools, so I thought I'd share what I got :)

White vest top : Primark, pink and white jumper : H&M. I know the weather's getting nicer, but this was so soft, I couldn't resist!

Batiste dry shampoo, MUA lipgloss and powder from Superdrug, Technic nail varnish in Mermaid from Bodycare

Foundation and concealer brush from Primark, 2 eyeliners and eyebrow pencil from MUA at Superdrug.

I also picked up my tools from my mum's as well!

Proxxon micro hand torch, Dremel multitool (it even came with a cute little block of polish <3) and 2mm letter punches.

I also got these cute little glass jars from Etsy for a project I want to do :)

Hope you all had a relaxing Sunday!

Tuesday 20 March 2012

I am the worst blogger in the entire world.

I've been so incredibly busy with college and work that I've had pretty much no time to breathe!!
College is going really well, I've made some awesome pieces, and sold most of them! Right now I'm working on a box ring in brass called "Home is where the heart is", my first claw set ring and my first tension set ring, I'm really excited about the tension setting but I've melted about £40.00 of silver making it. Grr.
Work sucks as usual, cept for the people, best people in the world <3 and home is wonderful. I never thought I'd say it, but living with my boy is amazing :D

Sorry for the short post! Just thought I'd mention that I'm still alive!
